We start from Fotö March 28 – July 10 and August 17 – September 20. From Hönö Klova July 11- August 16 , you will get to see and experience Gothenburg’s beautiful archipelago between Hönö – Fotö and Vinga.
The skipper tells about life on the islands, real events in history, the Viking age & the herring periods.
Telling the story of “When the English fleet was targeted at Vinga”.
We will pass the English Smuggling port outside Gothenburg during Napoleon’s continental blockade between Fotö and Risö1807-1812. Fotö was like an English Colony
What happened on the last day of World War II in the Gothenburg archipelago, May 8, 1945 and the fate of the German submarine U-3503 and its crew.
These exciting stories are sure to facinate children and adults alike.
On the way to Vinga we will stop at a seal colony making sure not to distrub them in their habitat, while the skipper tells us how they live & survive.
Make sure to have your camera ready!
The visit to Vinga island is approx. 1½ hours, you can also discover Vinga at your own pace, take a dip in the clear water at the harbor or in Gattulvsviken.
At the harbor kiosk you are able to purchase souevnirs, ice creams or just eat your pre-ordered food, the place for a lunch is hard to beat!
You can also go on a guided tour with Winga friends where you get a taste of Vinga and life on the island.
Go up 115 steps to the lighthouse and get a wonderful view. Visit the Beacon and the museum in Evert Taube’s childhood home.
On the journey back passing through natural harbours, the skipper continues his wonderful stories.
